Why Free and Open Source Software is important to a global organization

“Everybody uses Word, why use anything else it just causes trouble”.

This sentiment is very common today and is often repeated in one form or another as a justification to use Microsoft Products exclusively.

To be fair there are organizations where this may in fact be the path of least resistance and in some cases may even be the right answer.

QuickWorx has a new look

Many of you have probably realized there has been some strange goings on around this site lately.

Well you would be right. Quickworx has moved to a brand new server and has also been upgraded to WordPress Blogging software. Hopefully now that the main issues of the move have been resolved I can focus a bit more on getting the content organized the way I want it.

I did not move all of the old posts to the new site. If there is something that I have overlooked in the move and a resource that you were used to using is missing. Please comment on this message and let me know.

Creating a Virtual Server with VmWare

In the process of building the Virtual-Quickframe server for VmWare I ran in to a lot of small but prickly problems.

I have written the following installation notes to help myself and others when they are trying to build Virtual Server Images for use with either VmWare Player or VmWare Server software.
